Sede is the Motuan word for this beautiful bamboo drum. You will find versions of this drum throughout the Pacific and each region has their own word for this drum.  

 

In the Motuan villages of Central Province Papua New Guinea. The Sede is used along side the Kundu drum.  During dancing you may see men dancing with either the Kundu or Sede. You can see young men playing the Sede here:

Another word for this style of drum is Garamut.  This wooden log drum is found in the Manus islands of Papua New Guinea.  You can see this drum being played on the following links:
